1:41 PM - Beach Boys: I Get Around

Well my musical tastes are eclectic. You would think a person like myself would be into rap, R&B, funk and other musical forms. I'm big on classical music myself, but this song by the Beach Boys has a nice tune and rythym. Makes me want to make a visit to the beach...
Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread

Im gettin bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta finda new place where the kids are hip

My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Get around round round oooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo

We always take my car cause its never been beat
And weve never missed yet with the girls we meet

None of the guys go steady cause it wouldnt be right
To leave their best girl home now on saturday night

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
Im a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
Im makin real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
Get around round round I get around
Wah wa ooo
Get around round round I get around
Oooo ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo

4:41 PM - I quickly found out what that body outline was for...

The anti-smoking crusade has reached the Atlanta University Center. They're coming up with displays to bring the point home. Today people who died of smoking have left behind their shoes. Hmmm, almost like those Truth commercials on TV except we see it in reality not on TV.

7:13 PM - Chalk outline

I don't know the significance of this. I took a picture because of the cane. The cane I see amongst the Greeks (frats and sororities) but I saw no indication of any symbols of this being of Greek organizations. Perhaps this was a point more than anything.

7:38 AM - Eqyptian looking outfit

Eqyptian looking outfit
Originally uploaded by lbj79us.
Last semester there was an exhibition for the Alphas. They had mockups of rooms, photographers, mannequins no different than the one you see here, as well as other trinkets and paraphernalia. All kinds of stuff talking about A-Phi-A history.

Imagine this a full fledged campaign for fraternity president. You see that type of stuff too especially for winning campaigns. You'll see the outfits worn by all the Alpha general presidents and their wives. One wore an African Khaftan (perhaps I'll show that to you). It was a great exhibit and it's almost too bad that they moved on now from the AUC's Woodruff Library.

12:52 PM - How Irish Are You?

Let's see how Irish you are. This is St. Patty's Day weekend. Apparently I'm nowhere near being Irish. Darn and the sinker is that I don't drink. Well at least according to this blogthing.

You're 30% Irish

You're probably less Irish than you think you are...
But you're still more Irish than most.

9:50 AM - I finally figured it out!!!!

This blog's template is referred to as LiveJournal. Perhaps this blog can be something like that in it's own unique way. More of a live multimedia journal. I really wish that I can do better than LiveJournal as a name for this genre, one day perhaps I will.

So perhaps this blog will always have frivolous things. Whether vacation pictures, videos, or stories. Random videos I run across on YouTube or more rarely Google Video or even random pictures I run across anywhere and that includes Flickr. Perhaps things should be more interesting and indeed I have since I have a cameraphone.

BTW, I have some printed posts from my predecessor blog called The Journal. I deleted the posts a long time ago to get this project started but I have three posts that were emailed to myself and I still have them today. I would like to use this platform to share them eventually.

We shall see.

4:39 PM - Guess what this is?

This thick stack are all the comments on It's My Mind since October of last year. I counted just over 40 pages of comments. It's a very respectable stack. I don't think that I could even hold a candle to this if I was to say have posts from the first two years of posting.

11:01 AM - STAR TREK 2nd PILOT Deleted Scenes

This is a piece of Star Trek history. If you even see this episode called "Where No Man Has Gone Before", you would not see most of these scenes and titles. It would be what amounts to be a conventional Star Trek episode that most of us are most familiar with.

BTW, check out the Trek Movie Report. That where I get most of my news regarding the next Star Trek movie that is to open Christmas 2008. There are other Trek links I'd like to share but for now that last one is all you get.

9:05 PM - Hump Wednesday Pt 2

There are more people around at this moment. This is where the students of the AUC mingle and mix. The ladies show out and old friends meet up. And there are DJs too and street vendors. Cool huh?

You know since Monday I've started posting cameraphone pictures today I just posted 4 different photographs in one day here. I've never done this at The Eye. That last commentor was right this is addicting.

Oh well I need to cut this down and go back to the usual frivolity of music videos or random videos off of YouTube, lyrics, and other things that would fit here. Perhaps I do one of these mobile picture posts once or twice a week. Yeah that'll work.

So this is going to be a first. I got me a new phone over the weekend and this means that I'm going to start posting pictures here from my camera phone. Neat huh. Hopefully they'll be of interest and if not well this is just new content isn't it. I'm going to have fun and I hope you enjoy.

BTW, this picture is on Fair Street. The tower is on a dorm, Graves Hall on the campus of Morehouse College. It's a Freshman dorm with a lot of history and nicely designed too.

3:26 PM - Atomic Dog Lyrics

I never understood the lyrics until now. This is where I got the lyrics from. Go back to the video post and try to follow along.

Artist: George Clinton Lyrics
Song: Atomic Dog Lyrics

Yeah, this is a story of a famous dog
For the dog that chases its tail will be dizzy
These are clapping dogs, rhythmic dogs
Harmonic dogs, house dogs, street dogs
Dog of the world unite
Dancin' dogs
Yeah
Countin' dogs, funky dogs
Nasty dogs (Dog)

Atomic dog
Atomic dog

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Why must I feel like that
Oh, why must I chase the cat

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Ruff
Ruff
Ruff

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

Do the dogcatcher, baby, do the dogcatcher
Ooh

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

Just walkin' the dog
Oh, atomic dog

Futuristic bow-wow

Ruff

Leader of the pack
Wild dog

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Just the dog in me
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Just the dog in me
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
The dog in me (Dog in me)
The dog is in me (Dog in me)

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do you wanna do the dogcatcher
Well, baby, why don't you do it again for me

Dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

House-trained dogs
Wild dogs
Say it again

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat

2:59 PM - I don't know what happened

By this blog was locked for some reason by Blogger's spam-prevention robots. Odd since I'm not exactly peddling a product or a service using a device to send messages. To be sure though spammer annoy me in my email box and the annoyed me when I started blogging, although, I was able to solve that problem.

Now that the block has been undone, I can really get back to business. I didn't think there was a problem when I attempted to post some images from Flickr earlier this week.
