I shot this video during the 2007 Christmas holidays. There was a puppet show in Daley Plaza and I recorded some of it. Right behind me was a Christmas market. An annual thing in Chicago's Daley Plaze.

Now I just have to figure out how to use it. I've been using Windows Movie Maker for a couple or so years but it was time to step up my game a little with Sony Vegas. I can often tell say watching vids on YouTube those who use Windows Movie Maker vs. those who might use a higher quality program. Today I'm going to present to you some tutorials I've found. It might help you too.



Beyond that I think I still want to find a book on this!

Porgy and Bess was an opera composed by George Gershwin. He's responsible for that music you might hear when you watch a United Airlines ad. If you're interested that composition was called, A Rhapsody in Blue. The jazzy sound in this vid is delightful, enjoy!

It's a Lumiere of sorts. A soundless somewhat fixed video of my train ride to Los Angeles, California. This day was July 20th, 2005. I was somewhere between Colorado and New Mexico when I took this video.

I haven't forsaken Blip.tv, but YouTube was the most convenient at this moment. I may post it up later. I'm going to get a handle on posting video on the internet.

When wrestling was actually worth something. A time when there were three big wrestling companies competing for viewing eyes. Then one day there was only one company and wrestling started to get stale fast.

I miss this era when the original ECW actually has national TV exposure on the network once known as TNN or The Nashville Network (and they would become The National Network and then Spike). It was a great hour of wrestling everyweek I could watch at a reliable time, they still had their own syndicated programming that aired on TV stations around the nations. Then the WWF came to TNN and ECW was forced off and not too long after WWF aired their programming on TNN, ECW was a memory.

I really miss those days!

I've been browsing YouTube for music videos this week. Doesn't matter the genre. It could be rap, R&B, soul, funk, rock, new wave, or what have you.

I posted a couple of videos on the 1980s version of Puttin on the Ritz here earlier this year but both of those videos have been deleted from YouTube. This time I think that YouTube isn't likely to bother it so I post it now and delete those other posts that I already have here.

I always though of this song as a nice snappy song. Especially with that nice early 1980s sound (performed by this artist named Taco).

There were two version of this video I should add. This is the controversial version where the permorers here were in blackface. In another version of this video, those sequences with the performers in black face were edited out and in some shots headshots of movie legend Gary Cooper were inserted.

I decided to look up more about this song and found out that originally the lyrics were to reflect the fad of well to do New Yorkers going to black jazz clubs in Harlem. I decided to see if I can find the original lyrics of this song and excuse me if I call this Exhibit A.

I'm not really a TuPac fan, but I really enjoy this song California Love. There's a very nice sound when you listen to this. It almost makes me miss what rap music used to be. In a way it's too bad TuPac was killed before his time.

Imagine this a serious video from Slate Magazine at The Eye about a media major executive, Rupert Murdoch and the portrayals of him throughout the media. I'm talking in movies, TV series, and cartoons. Either they're looking at the man himself or the fictional characters are based on him.

If you don't know Rupert Murdoch is the CEO of News Corp they own the FOX News Channel, the FOX network, and 20th Century Fox among other properties around the country.

This show came along before Monty Python's Flying Circus premiered in Britain. Know that two Python regulars John Cleese and Graham Chapman came from this show and there may not be much resemblance to Monty Python, however, I post this because this sketch was damned funny. Hmm there should be some ripoffs of this sketch.

I had no idea that the man who created some of my favorite childhood memories on TV, with the Muppet Show and Sesame Street can do a short film. Well it probably helps if you're going to make TV productions in the future involving your puppet creations. This was great to watch certainly.

I miss these days. 1998-99 the year I first discovered and got seriously into Extreme Championship Wrestling or ECW if you prefer. Some of the finest most interesting wrestling programs you could have ever ran into. It was at time more compelling than WWF or even WCW and production values weren't even that great.

So this video I first saw back in 1999. I even recorded it on tape when I saw it on TV one day and it can be considered a great ode to the ECW of old. In fact it can be an ode to one of ECW's greatest stars, Rob Van Damn.

In this video we see a band called Kilgore do a rendition of Pantera's song "Walk" and with all the ECW wrestlers and the ECW action it's worth watching.

I barely remember this old park. I wasn't too young when it was demolished in favor of the "New" Comiskey Park, now known as US Cellular Field. Here's a description from YouTube...

Comiskey Park (1910-1990)

During the last 8 years of Comiskey Park's existence, the annual attendance surpassed the 2 million mark three times, including the final season when the team contended for much of the year before losing the division title to the Oakland Athletics.

White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf received more than $200 million in public financing for the new stadium after threatening to move the club to St. Petersburg, Florida. The stadium now called Tropicana Field was constructed by officials in St. Petersburg in an effort to lure a Major League Baseball club to Florida. The deal was sealed in a last-minute legislative maneuver by then-governor James R. Thompson.[1]

Comiskey Park was demolished in 1991, a process that started from behind the right field corner, and took all summer. The last portion to come down was the center field bleachers and the "exploding" scoreboard. The site of the old park was turned into a parking lot to serve those attending games at the new Comiskey Park (later renamed U.S. Cellular Field).

Bill Veeck once remarked that "There is no more beautiful sight in the world than a ballpark full of people!" On its best days, Comiskey was stuffed to the gills, with 55,000 people or more lining the aisles and even standing for nine (or eighteen) innings on the sloping ramps that criss-crossed behind the scoreboard. The nearly-fully enclosed stands had a way of capturing and reverberating the noise without any artificial enhancement. As a Chicago sportswriter once remarked, "Wrigley Field yayed and Comiskey Park roared."

'Old' Comiskey's home plate is a marble plaque on the sidewalk next to U.S. Cellular Field, and the field is a parking lot. Foul lines are painted on the lot. Also, the spectator ramp across 35th Street is designed in such a way (partly curved, partly straight but angling east-northeast) that it echoes the outline of part of the old grandstand.

When the Sox won the 2005 World Series, their victory parade began at U.S. Cellular Field, and then circled the block where old Comiskey had stood, before heading on a route through various south side neighborhoods and toward the downtown.
