9:28 PM - Alfred Caldwell Lily Garden
I had me a long walk up from Michigan Avenue to the lakefront thru Lincoln Park. Before I walked any further I just had to take a nice rest and this Lily Garden was as good a place as any. I can hear the traffic from nearby Lake Shore Drive and I can see the traffic on Fullerton, but this place was so serene and peaceful.
A tour guide dropped by a pavillion where I was sitting on the bench. I told her that this place is almost like the country. She said that's the point, it was an "urban getaway". I believe her and it did it's job. I took a few pics and maybe I'll post some more. You may not be there, but you might have still relaxed seeing some of these pics.
After you see the pics, I'll post some links of interest.

11:22 AM - Brian Setzer Orchestra - Hawaii Five O
Because I have been able to watch this classic series on Chicago's WWME-TV channel 23, I have become a fan. They really don't make TV series like this anymore. I suppose that's OK because well it gives those of us who came later a chance to miss something.
Anyway what you're going to see is a rendition of the Hawaii Five-0 theme by Brian Setzer, and it's pretty good. Check out this description...

8:04 PM - Englewood pics from Saturday
This was about 66th and Halsted. You see a Church's Chicken to the left and the up ahead is something of a shopping mall. No big names stores and I don't know what is sold in there because I've never actually shopped there.
This is still on Halsted to the right is the campus of Kennedy King College. The City Colleges of Chicago seems to have invested in a lot of green space around the college campus there. To the left is a parking lot that once upon a time was home to store fronts that were torn down to build a parking lot for the college. Up ahead is the Halsted CTA Green Line L stop, a place that might be jumping with students coming to class from all parts of the city, hopefully.
I had to get a pic of the clock tower. I wonder if it'll make those chime sounds that a clock would make. A nice architectural addition to a neighborhood that's looking for revitalization. And I'm sure being hopeful.

10:13 PM - 69 Boyz - Tootsee Roll
This song takes me back. This was certainly my first exposure to the idea of rump-shakin'. Of course what's seen in this video pales in comparison to what I would see as I would progress thru adolescence. If you don't like rump-shakin, I hope you like the tune.

11:44 PM - The house of clout - S Wabash Ave & E 83rd St
This is one of my favorite houses. It has a driveway like any other mansion. Nice house and to be sure the comments I just posted makes a good point. And check out this description.
So, who do you have to be to demarcate the public parkway as if it were part of
your property? It doesn't block public passage, but it does make a statement.
